Inclusive development since 2003

About SHAKTI

A grassroots organisation working for social transformation, sustainable livelihoods and community empowerment.

A community institution shaped by field experience since 2003.

SHAKTI was initiated by a group of young professionals with the objective of contributing to a healthier and more equitable society through social transformation. The organisation works with poor and marginalised communities while placing strong emphasis on environment, local knowledge and sustainable development.

Its evolution has moved through an activist-oriented phase, an independent phase and, from 2003 onward, a continuing focus on professional excellence and transparency.
